Earlier this month, Huawei recruited testers for the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro in China to test new features. These new features will optimize EMUI 10 to deliver improved user experience.
Today, Huawei has started pushing the first beta version of this campaign, which installs a number of new features including the much-awaited Colorful Always-on Display (AOD).
Huawei has planned to send this feature to eligible devices in the first quarter of 2020 and now it’s finally reaching the P30 series users.

Features added in this beta update:
Colorful Always-on Display (AOD):
Clock style color updated from black and white to new gradient colors. The color of the time widget will change according to the time of the day.
Use the voice assistant to quickly create, manage alarms or delay alarm.
Added flashlight notification on the lock screen to remind you if the flashlight is on.
Optimize the hierarchical management of picture editing options, display richer editing menus in one screen, and make picture editing more efficient.
After enabling the switch (Settings> Security> SOS emergency help), press the power button five times in any case to enter the SOS emergency help interface.
With this new feature, you can dial the emergency contact number and send a help message at the same time.
The first EMUI 10 new features beta upgrade for Huawei P30 and P30 Pro comes with version 10.0.0.221.
We expect that Huawei will continue to send new beta updates for Huawei P30 series until the beta program closes, which will also mark the countdown of these features to rollout globally.
We can expect that Huawei may soon begin a beta program for Huawei Mate 20 series to add colorful AOD.
