The Huawei P20 series is one of the popular oldest smartphone lineups in both Chinese as well as global markets. To further enhancements, Huawei has dispatched March 2022 software update for the Huawei P20 smartphone running on HarmonyOS 2.0 system.

As per the information, the latest March 2022 HarmonyOS update is rolling for P20 series models including:

  • Huawei P20 (EML-AL00)
  • Huawei P20 (EML-TL00)
  • Huawei P20 Pro (CLT-AL00, CLT-AL01, CLT-AL00)
  • Huawei P20 Pro (CLT-TL00, CLT-TL01)

Moving ahead, the March 2022 update is released with upgraded HarmonyOS 2.0 version 2.0.0.230. Therefore, the above-mentioned smartphone owners make sure that are on HarmonyOS baseline version 2.0.0.216.

Changes description:

According to the changelog, this update brings a new addition to the Super Device feature and adds Senior Mode to settings for easier management of settings, especially for seniors.

Also, it brings optimizations for mistouch prevention in gaming situations and calling experience as well as system security by installing March 2022 security patch. At last, it resolves the problem of ringtone stacks in some scenarios.

Before pursuing the latest update, do check that your smartphone must be charged 30% or above as well as have an adequate amount of storage to download the update package. Use a WiFi connection for fast and buffer-free downloading.

To install, open the settings menu on your smartphone, tap on system & updates, and then software updates. Now, tap on CHECK FOR UPDATES and wait for the new update to appear on your device.

Once the update prompt appeared on the screen, tap on the download and install option. After completion of the process, the device will automatically reboot to optimize the overall process.

Global Huawei P20 series eligible for EMUI 12:

In the past week, Huawei has officially confirmed the EMUI 12 eligibility for the oldest Huawei P20 series and begun the EMUI 12 beta testing program. At the moment, this device is in the testing phase for limited users. The company will soon conclude the beta activity and release the stable EMUI 12 for all users.
