Huawei Nova 8 gets August 2022 HarmonyOS update

At present, Huawei is preparing the launch event for the new flagship that is the Mate 50 series. Alongside this, the company is also releasing monthly updates on its new and old devices. Now, the older member of the Nova family- the Huawei Nova 8 series is receiving the August 2022 HarmonyOS update.

Huawei recently released the August 2022 HarmonyOS update for Huawei Nova 8, Nova 8 Pro 5G, and Nova 8 Pro 4G smartphones. The HarmonyOS update has come over the Huawei Nova 8 series with compatible models numbers that are:

  •  Huawei Nova 8 (ANG-AN00)
  •  Huawei Nova 8 Pro 5G (BRQ-AN00)
  •  Huawei Nova 8 Pro 4G (BRQ-AL00)


The August 2022 update in Huawei Nova 8 series comes over the HarmonyOS 2.0.0.272 build version running on the HarmonyOS 2.0.0.268 base version. The update does not give any hint regarding the weight that it holds but it is recommended to maintain sufficient storage in your device to download the package.
According to the information, the security patches are integrated with the August 2022 update to fix the issues in the previous software to provide protection to the overall system. Further, the update also fixes the vulnerabilities in each section mentioned below:
Framework section:

  • Critical – 1 CVE
  • High – 1 CVE
  • Medium – 2 CVEs

Kernel section:

  •  High- 1 CVE

System section:

  • Medium- 1 CVE

Application section:

  • High- 2 CVEs
  •  Medium- 3 CVEs

Third-Party library:

  •  High- 5 CVEs
  •  Medium- 2 CVEs

You can download the update on your Nova 8 smartphone through the latest version of “MY Huawei app”.

Previous update-

Recently, Huawei rolled out the July 2022 security update for the Nova 8 series with the HarmonyOS 2.0.0.268 version. It also incorporated the security patches into the system for the bug-free experience as the August 2022 security patch does.
Although, the new update has new fixes so get the update as soon as possible. The user experience will definitely enhance after upgrading to the latest version of the software. Stay tuned for more updates.
