Huawei is continuously dispatching the January 2022 HarmonyOS security patch with the latest software update rollout for its devices. In the latest development, January 2022 security update has reached to Huawei Nova 8 SE smartphone that protects the device against threats.

According to the updated information, Huawei Nova 8 SE smartphone users are receiving the latest HarmonyOS version 2.0.0.222 upgraded from 2.0.0.219. Currently, we don’t have details about the update size but it is suggested you keep at least 300MB of free space on your device.

After exploring the complete changelog, we haven’t found any major change, which can be mentioned here. But the installation of the January 2022 security update will be very beneficial because it brings fixes of CVEs encountered in the HarmonyOS software system.

The January 2022 HarmonyOS security update resolves a massive count of 130 CVEs belonging to different software sections including the kernel, application, framework, and third-party libraries.

Update steps:

Go to smartphone settings of the smartphone, visit the system & updates section, tap on software updates followed by CHECK FOR UPDATES. Wait until the phone is connecting to the server and check for the available software update for you. If an update appears on your device, hit the download button and install it.

Alternatively, open the My Huawei app on your smartphone and make sure that the app is running on the latest version. Then, visit the software update section, and follow-on screen instructions to download and install the update. After completion of the update, the device will automatically reboot.
