Huawei Nova 7i getting November security update, no confirmation about EMUI 11 at the moment

Huawei is sending a new software update for Huawei Nova 7i smartphone users. This update installs the security patch released in November 2020 that enhances the system security.

Aside from this, after months of testing, Huawei has released the EMUI 11 stable version for Nova 7 and Nova 6 users. However, Nova 7i’s hardware is capable of running EMUI 11 but the company didn’t officially declare either Nova 7i will get EMUI 11 upgrade or not.

The Nova 7i users are still waiting for their turn to test the latest EMUI 11. Currently, this device is working on EMUI 10.1 version and receiving the regular security patches for further system security improvements.

Version:

  • Huawei Nova 7i users getting EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.0.260 with an update size of 463MB.

*Currently, this update is rolling out in the Middle East.

November 2020 Security Patch Details: November 2020 security update install security fixes for different levels of exploits and issues within Huawei phones including 3 critical and 15 high levels of CVEs.

HOW TO UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Note:

  • The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  • The update will not erase any data.
