Huawei Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro smartphones running on HarmonyOS are receiving a new software that brings January 2022 security update. This firmware update increases the security of the device by fixing different levels of exploits and issues.

With this January 2022 update, Huawei upgraded the software system of Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro smartphones to deliver better performance. As per the information, the latest update brings HarmonyOS 2.0.0.212 version for Nova 5 smartphone.

On the other hand, Huawei Nova 5 Pro smartphone user gets upgraded HarmonyOS version 2.0.0.212/213. According to the changelog, this update only installs security improvements and doesn’t have any other special changes to mention.

Models receiving update:

  • Huawei Nova 5 (SEA-AL00)
  • Huawei Nova 5 Pro (SEA-AL10)

Huawei Nova 5 smartphone users grabbing HM OS version 2.0.0.212 from 2.0.0.210. While the Nova 5 Pro users receiving HarmonyOS version 2.0.0.212/213 upgraded from 2.0.0.210/211.

Update steps:

Huawei Nova 5 users can check and download the update manually by visiting the phone’s Settings, then tap on system & updates, open software updates, and from here select CHECK FOR UPDATES. If an update appears on your smartphone, tap on the download and install option. Keep patience, while the update package is downloading.

On the other hand, users can also request the update through the My Huawei app. To do this, open the My Huawei app, go to update, and follow the on-screen instructions to upgrade over the latest firmware version.

Important Points:

Make sure that your device is not root and keep adequate battery and storage before downloading the update. Also, we recommend you take a backup of your important data and follow the update instruction carefully.
