On November 28, 2023, Huawei released a 2024 version of the Huawei MateBook D 16 notebook with a lightweight design, increased battery life, and improved features.

The notebook sports a 16-inch screen with an IPS panel and a 90% screen-to-body ratio. The overall appearance of the screen is amazing. It has a 16:10 aspect ratio and 1920×1200 pixels resolution with 142ppi. The screen also supports 300nits brightness, 100% sRGB color gamut, and 178-degree viewing angle.

The notebook weighs only 1.68 kg with a thin, light body similar to a 15-inch notebook in a 16-inch model.

The Huawei MateBook D 16 2024 uses a 13th-generation Intel Core i9-1390H standard processor. The chipset could boast a single-core performance of up to 23.6% and a multi-core performance of 142.3%. There are a total of four processor variants:

  • 13th Generation Intel Core i9-13900H Standard Voltage Processor
  • 13th Generation Intel Core i7-13700H Standard Voltage Processor
  • 13th Generation Intel Core i5-13500H Standard Voltage Processor
  • 13th Generation Intel Core i5-13420H Standard Voltage Processor

However, it only has 16GB RAM and 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD memory.

The notebook has a new Metalane antenna for long-distance connectivity. It can increase file download speed by 51% and can support device connection up to 270 meters from the source connection. Importantly, the new MatePad D 16 brings a large 70wH battery, upgrading from 60Wh in the predecessor.

Huawei MateBook 2024 brings Windows 11 Home Premium with smart features such as Super Device to keep all of the Huawei devices connected to this large-screen notebook.

  • i5-13420H+16GB+1TB = 4599 yuan
  • i5-13500H+16GB+1TB = 4999 yuan
  • i7-13700H+16GB+1TB = 5999 yuan
  • i9-13900H+16GB+1TB = 6499 yuan

The first version will be on pre-sale starting today in China, while the availability for the rest of the models will be announced later on.
