EMUI 11 will launch at Huawei Developer Conference (HDC) 2020, this new version of EMUI will be based on open-source Android 11. Now, there’s a new interesting leak dropped regarding the EMUI 11, which suggests that Huawei Mate 40 series (codename – Noah) will come with two different versions of EMUI.

Tipster Evan Blass has said that the upcoming Huawei Mate 40 Pro will ship with a different firmware than the ‘non-Pro’ Huawei Mate 40. The Mate 40 Pro will come with EMUI 11 based on open source Android 11, on the other hand, Huawei Mate 40 may come with a new version of EMUI 10.

Launched at HDC 2019, EMUI 10 is the first Huawei EMUI software that’s based on Android Open Source Project (AOSP). As usual, Huawei Mate device – Mate 30 series was the first to come pre-installed with EMUI 10 based on Android 10.

According to previous launches, Huawei Mate series (Pro and non-Pro) comes with the same firmware versions, similar software strategies also applied for the P series but we don’t know Huawei would try such a move to install a new EMUI version in the Pro version and an old EMUI on the standard edition.

To be mentioned, Huawei could also launch the Huawei Mate 40 Lite ahead of Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro, which will definitely come with EMUI 10.1. Currently, we don’t have the exact information on whether the tipster was talking about the Mate 40 Lite.

In the meantime, we’ll have to wait until HDC 2020 for further confirmation, which will be held on September 10, 2020.
