Huawei launches new laptops with Windows 10 after Microsoft gets license to resume business

With the launch of Huawei MateBook D series, Huawei has introduced its latest pair of laptops running Windows 10 that was postponed earlier this year due to the US trade ban.

On November 20, the US Commerce Department granted Microsoft a license to export mass-market software to Huawei, allowing the Chinese tech giant to once again build laptop featured with Windows software.

Back in May, the US Commerce Department added Huawei into the Entity-List and imposed trade restrictions that prohibit it from buying US technologies.

Soon after the US trade blacklisting, Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO, Richard Yu told that Huawei has abandoned its current plans to launch new MateBooks due to the lack of accessibility to required components and software services including Microsoft’s Windows and Intel processors.

By measuring the conditions, Huawei has started launching new MateBook laptops with Linux + AMD processors but the new license allows the company to get Microsoft services back in place.
