Huawei launches lightweight 5G technology which takes 20% less power than 4G

Huawei announced RedCap 5G technology at the Global Mobile Broadband Forum (MBBF) 2023, which is lightweight and takes about 20% less power in operations than 4G.

According to the information, RedCap can bring optimal balance between costs and performance for various industries including manufacturing, electric power, home broadband, vehicle-to-everything (V2X), and smart wearables.

The cost of Huawei RedCap modules is down to 10 USD, which is 80% more efficient than 5G eMBB modules.

That’s not it, the Huawei 5G RedCap modules deliver 10 times higher network capacity than 4G and also consume about 20% less power than 4G.

Huawei is now expanding RedCap 5G technology for global industry customers and it could exceed 100 million connections by the next three years.
