Huawei Kirin 9000s benchmark results

Huawei Nova 12 series will use a Kirin 9000s chipset and the recent results of benchmark tests reveal that the new processor significantly outperforms its predecessors in a few aspects. Perhaps, users will not observe much difference in both these processors.

As per the latest inputs, Nanoreview.net conducted several benchmark tests between the new Huawei Kirin 9000s chipset and its three-year-old predecessor to compare their results. The analysts held these tests on several platforms including AnTuTu 10, Geekbench 6, 3DMark Wild Life, and many mobile games.

Eventually, the results were quite surprising. Despite lower configurations and similar score counts as the Kirin 9000 processor, the new chip performed efficiently. Kirin 9000s appeared 4% faster in the single-core and 17% faster in the multi-core Geekbench 6.

In AnTuTu 10, Kirin 9000s gained 897496 scores. While the overall grade is good enough, the latest chip lagged by 33% in GPU performance than the three-year-old processor. Meanwhile, the CPU and memory scores of 9000s are 15.5% and 45%, respectively.

On the flip side, Kirin 9000 remained 20% more efficient than 9000s in the 3DMark Wild Life GPU tests. Still, the new chip exhibits better performance than expected.

A gap between GPU scores is mainly because the original Kirin 9000 bears the 24-cluster Arm Mali-G78 graphics processing unit which runs at a frequency of 759MHz. However, Kirin 9000s processors install the new Maleoon 910 with 750MHz.

For gaming lovers, both chipsets performed well in multiple games like Call of Duty, World of Tanks, Genshin Impact, Endless Showdown, and more. Thus, you won’t encounter any interruption in a seamless gaming performance.

Kirin 9000 vs Kirin 9000s: Comparison

The new Kirin 9000s processor uses SMIC’s second-gen 7nm process and is less advanced than TSMC’s N5 production. A difference between the internal configurations of these chipsets is as follows:

Huawei Kirin 9000s core architecture:

  • 4 x A510 1.53GHz + 3 x 2.15GHz + 1 x 2.62GHz
  • Eight CPU cores and ARMv8-A structure
  • GPU – Maleoon 910
  • Power Consumption – 7W

Huawei Kirin 9000 core architecture:

  • 4 x A55 2.05GHz + 3 x A77 2.54GHz + 1 x A77 3.13GHz
  • GPU – Mali-G78 MP24
  • Power Consumption – 6W

The Kirin 9000s processor supports advanced LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage. Everything combined, the latest chip is notably slower than its predecessors. However, it is still a better product for new phones and can work effectively in all aspects.
