Huawei introduces Children’s Watch 5 New Edition with AI positioning, and 800mAh battery

Huawei has silently introduced the Children’s Watch 5 New Edition and listed the device on the official VMall. The wearable packs useful features and AI services that will help parents keep track of their child’s location and other activities.

Children’s Watch 5 series has two models – the standard and the Lite. But now the company has brought another addition with some tiny upgrades and improvements.

The Huawei Children’s Watch 5 New Edition is available in the official Mall stores for 598 yuan. Even though the original price tag is 698 yuan, you will get a discount of 100 bucks if you buy the device before the current month ends (May 31).

Huawei Children’s Watch 5 New Edition is available in two shades: Blue and Pink. Although the two significant features of this wearable are offline positioning and the video call capability that easily connects kids with their friends and family.

In terms of design, the Children’s Watch 5 New Edition is made up of a spray-painted mecha-style case and attaches a hollow silicone strap. The material is not only flexible but also breathable, providing immense grip and comfort on the wrist.

Offline Positioning: It is the most useful feature as it updates parents about their child’s location even if the watch is offline or enters a low network area.

The wearable supports a 10-layer AI positioning feature which depends on the NPL algorithm. As a result, you can check on indoor positioning and find your child in more than 5000 places including malls, airports, railway stations, and other areas.

AI positioning also enables kids to keep track of weather details. It has a safer area mode that shows the animated sketch of safe zones and alerts parents about it.

School Guardian is another add-on under the AI positioning section that tells parents if their child reached home or school on time. Video calls with several kinds of devices, the WeChat watch version, and other media-related facilities.

The watch has a display panel of 1.3-inch AMOLED with a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels and 261 PPI. It brings 4G network capabilities and also ensures GPS as well as Bluetooth support. The device has qualified for the IP68 rating.
