Huawei HMS Core 6.0 rolling out, brings better security and optimizations

Last month, Huawei announced that HMS Core AKA Huawei Mobile Services Core’s 6.0 version will launch soon. The company also confirmed that this new version will come with enhanced capabilities and better software services for the developers and users.

Although, Huawei is yet to make an official announcement but its mobile app update has already started to rollout in advance.

According to the information, Huawei has started to release HMS Core 6.0 app update through the AppGallery. The release note doesn’t explain much about the new changes but it reads that the new HMS Core brings improvements for security and optimizations for mobile services.

HMS Core Progress:

At Huawei Developer Day Beijing and DIGIX Innovation Competition, the Huawei Cloud Consumer Services chief revealed, the number of HMS Core applications has now reached over 134,000.

Aside from that Liu Dongfang, Vice President of Huawei Marketing and Solutions said that the HMS Core solution registered developer number exceeded 4 million at the end of May 2021, which is a huge improvement.

On July 2nd, Huawei announced its first set of HarmonyOS tablets including the MatePad 11. This is the first Huawei tab that comes with a Snapdragon chipset and is powered by a 120Hz high-performance touch screen.

Today at Huawei Nova 9 series unveiling, the Chinese tech firm launched a new version of this big-screen device – Huawei MatePad 11 Olive Green with 6+256GB WiFi version at 3299 yuan.

Huawei MatePad 11:

Huawei MatePad 11 Olive Green launched with a new and upgraded handwriting experience, supports one-click excerpts, global annotations, notes, PDFs, cloud notes, and share notes. It can also be used with the second-generation M-Pencil.

Huawei MatePad 11 is the first Huawei tablet that comes with Snapdragon 865 processor including 1 x Cortex-A77 Based 2.84 GHz + 3 x Cortex-A77 Based 2.4 GHz + 4 x Cortex-A55 Based 1.8 GHz and Adreno 650, 587 Mhz.

This tablet features a 10.95-inch display with an 86 percent screen-to-body ratio, WQXGA 2560 x 1600 pixels screen resolution, and 120Hz refresh rate for a smooth UI and viewing experience.

The tablet doesn’t disappoint its consumers and brings a new 13MP (f/1.8 aperture, Autofocus) rear camera that can shoot up to 4k videos. There’s also an 8MP front-facing camera to take selfies.

To run it for prolonged hours, Huawei MatePad 11 packs a 7250 mAh battery that supports 22.5W quick charging. Moreover, It’s one of the first Huawei tablets that comes with the HarmonyOS 2 operating system pre-installed with features such as a new user interface and better user experience as compared to the EMUI software system.

Huawei Cloud ranks 2nd in China and 5th in global cloud market: Chairman

Huawei Cloud has become the second-ranked cloud service provider in China and enters the top 5 cloud providers in the global market announced Eric Xu, Huawei Rotating Chairman. The announcement made by Eric comes at Huawei’s annual flagship event for the global ICT industry – Huawei Connect 2021.

Eric began this event with a keynote speech titled “Innovating Nonstop for Faster Digitalization”. The event is scheduled to have four keynotes, five summits, and 66 sessions, featuring more than 200 speakers, including industry visionaries, business leaders, top tech experts, and ecosystem partners. It will be live-streamed in 11 languages on Huawei’s corporate website and by its media partners.

“Digital development relies on digital technology. For digital technology to stay relevant, we must continue to innovate and create value. Cloud, AI, and networks are three critical digital technologies.”

The Progress:

To show the importance of the significant progress of Huawei Cloud solutions, Xu mentioned that the Cloud has brought in over 2.3 million developers, 14000 consulting partners, and 6000 technology partners, and also made more than 4500 services available via Huawei Cloud Marketplace. The Cloud service was launched four years ago and now making its way to become the most important platform for Internet companies, enterprises, and governments.

Zhang Ping’an, CEO of Cloud BU and President of Huawei Consumer Cloud Service, elaborated on HUAWEI CLOUD’s strategic initiatives and launched new services and products at the event.

“The key to successful digital transformation is to think cloud-native and act cloud-native,” said Zhang.

Zhang announced two new Regions in Mexico and China’s Ulanqab, and launched 10 new CLOUD services. The announcement included MacroVerse – HUAWEI CLOUD aPaaS, OptVerse AI Solver, HUAWEI CLOUD Stack 8.1, SparkRTC – a real-time audio and video service, and Pangu, a large model for drug molecules.
