The highlight of these earbuds is the NearLink Audio technology. It uses NearLink E2.0 wireless short-range audio transmission capability coupled with the Kirin A3 processor. This chipset boosts the physical transmission rate by 16 Mbps.
Besides, this tech can accomplish 2.5GHz to 5.8GHz dual-band communication. The dual-band antenna also boosts the frequency of the device in complex surroundings like high-speed rail, subways, airports, and more. Thus, you get:
- 8 times ultra-high transmission rate
- 2 times ultra-wide coverage distance
- 5 times improved signal transmission performance over the previous generation
- 1.58 times enhanced signal reception performance over the previous-gen device.
FreeBuds Pro 5 further offers 4.6Mbps master-level lossless sound quality – thanks to the L2HC5.0 audio codec that attains 96kHz/24 bit lossless transmission.
Also, the Kirin A3 chip is linked with a dual DSP digital signal SoCs and dual DAC audio drivers that offer impressive high and low audio frequency details. You can check more details about the new-gen audio wearable chip below
Speaking of the driver unit, FreeBuds Pro 5 are the world’s first earphones to adopt dual-unit, dual-channel active noise cancellation with two acoustic units working together to emit reverse sound waves and decrease the overall noise.
To make this possible, the device has an ultra-linear dual-magnetic circuit bass unit mechanism that reaches down to 10Hz, delivering powerful and impactful bass. Meanwhile, the ultra-thin micro-planar tweeter hits 48kHz and offers crystal clarity.

Battery
Huawei FreeBuds Pro 5 packs a 60mAh cell in a single earbud and 537mAh in the case. The device runs for 9 hours without noise cancellation and 6 hours when the feature is enabled.
FreeBuds Pro 5 supports Huawei SOUND. The company has partnered with the Central Conservatory of Music to redefine its audio tech and offer a balance between vocals and sound effects, precise generation of vocals, enhanced natural sound, and powerful bass.
Moreover, the device has a new MIMO AI model that senses changes in ambient noise and matches the best noise cancellation in real time, and eventually improves the respective effect by 220%.
The upgraded noise cancellation tech can process up to 9 noise information per second and reduces the noise processing delay by 8µs.
Other features of the device include smart volume adaptation, two-way silent calling, dual recording protection, star-shine connection for high-speed data transfer, AI summaries, and AI hands-free conversation (switches modes when you are talking to someone nearby and adjusts the volume accordingly).
Huawei FreeBuds Pro 5 is the first headset in the company to support multi-scenario recording with a time of 200 minutes. Whether it’s voice calls, offline meetings, or anything else, the device focuses on the present moment and records the details.
More Features
FreeBuds Pro 5 supports the IP57 rating, Bluetooth 6.0, space configuration, hearing aid research, 38 hours of battery life, and the NearLink Precise Search feature.
