Today, Huawei announced that the FreeBuds 5 will launch at the upcoming Spring Launch event on March 23, and the teasers shared by the company also confirmed that these new earbuds will have a brand-new design.

The teasers show three key characteristics of the upcoming Huawei FreeBuds 5 devices: New Shape, New Texture, and new sound experience.

It also reveals that the design has a water drop like base, while FreeBuds 4 featured a cylindrical shape. However, the latest change directly reflects the hardware and internal changes of the FreeBuds 5. This may be related to new sensors and better battery life.

CEO of Huawei Consumers Business Group said that the FreeBuds 4 was launched two years ago. It brought consumers an unprecedented semi-in-ear comfortable immersive listening experience.

Ahead of the official release, a major design leak has provided an early look at this upcoming FreeBuds device. It shows a big change in the base and it is only slightly smaller than the earpiece. On the flip side, it’s completely different in terms of aesthetics.
