Honor V30 series gets Magic UI 3.1 public beta with Multi-device control panel and more

Earlier this month, Honor pushed the first Magic UI 3.1 beta update for Honor V30 series and now it’s sending the first public beta update for the users registered recently for the public beta activity China.

This update for Honor V30 and V30 Pro brings Split-screen multitasking, Multi-Device control panel, Dark Mode optimizations, Cross-Device Gallery, Screen Sharing and phone calls collaboration via PC.

ChangeLog of Magic UI 3.1 public beta:

Split-Screen:

Just slide-in from either side of the screen and stay to access the app dock. Apps inside the sidebar can be dragged across the screen to initiate Multi-Window. Images, text, and even files can be dragged from one app to another.

Floating Window allows users to perform basic tasks such as responding to text messages without exiting the active full-screen app, so users can stay focused on their tasks at hand.

Multi-Device Control Panel:

Users can access the panel by simply swiping up from either corner. The feature can be used to turn IoT devices on or off, set up smartphone screen projection, initiate Multi-screen Collaboration, and more.

Multi-Device Control Center also recommends nearby devices that can be used to improve the current user experience.

Dark Mode:

Adds dark mode support for more third-party applications.

Receive calls via PC:

Users can now receive/attend calls using PC (while connected).

Mobile Office: 

Supported Huawei laptops to open and edit the files and documents with one-click access.

Screen Sharing:

During a call, you can share your screen and doodle on it for both parties to convey messages with each other even more effectively. For example, show your parents how to use their phone by talking to them while operating on your phone. When discussing with your colleagues and customers over a call, you can demonstrate your idea and make notes on the screen.

Cross-Device Gallery:

The cross-device photo gallery powered by the distributed file system and gallery now aggregates all media saved across Huawei smartphones and tablets running EMUI 10.1 that are connected to the same Wi-Fi AP network and logged in under the same Huawei ID.

Magic UI VERSION:

The public Magic UI 3.1 beta for Honor V30 and V30 Pro comes with Magic UI version 3.1.0.77 for users on Magic UI 3.0. Existing internal beta testers will also receive a similar update soon.

Note: This rollout is related to the Chinese models.

HOW TO CHECK FOR UPDATE:

• Open Settings
• Click on System & updates
• Click on Software update
• Click on CHECK FOR UPDATES
• Click on Download and install
