Huawei is the only mainstream foldable phone maker with an outward foldable phone but it seems like Honor is also ready to enter this segment to rival its former parent company.

Honor has certified a new smartphone with model number – VCA-AN00. The document for this new phone was published on August 7th by China’s TENAA Inspect Authority. It reveals that the device has 5G access and runs Android-based MagicOS software.

Tipster WangzhaiKnows said that the phone VCA-AN00 is codenamed Victoria and it’s Honor’s first outward folding phone. The tipster also predicted that the device will be called Honor Magic Vs 2.

Currently, Honor has not announced details regarding the VCA-AN00 from official channels but the company surely has a launch event at IFA 2023. The promo poster indicates that there are two new phones that come from the phone makers. However, much of the speculation lands as it includes a flip-style device alongside the side folding – Magic V2.

Huawei:

Huawei Mate Xs is the world’s first outer folding 5G smartphone and it’s also Huawei’s first foldable phone commercially available for customers. Last year, Huawei launched the second version of this device – Mate Xs 2, which has many improvements over its predecessor. Huawei Mate Xs 2 equips a large 6.5-inch main display and expands to 7.8-inch after unfolding.

It offers 2480×2200 pixels resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 240 Hz touch sampling rate, and 1.07 billion colors. The panel brings 424 ultra-high pixel density, 45% increased anti-reflection ability, and more.

The phone has a triple camera system, which you can use for both rear and front-facing photography. Consisting of a 50 MP True-Chroma Camera (Wide Angle, f/1.8 aperture), 13 MP Ultra-Wide Angle Camera (f/2.2 aperture) and 8 MP Telephoto Camera (f/2.4 aperture, OIS), support AF.

It would be exciting to see what Honor offers over the outward foldable phone from Huawei.
