Honor CEO, Zhao Ming continues to criticize Apple for its slight change strategy and he said on Thursday that the new iPhone 15 Pro is similar to the last year’s iPhone 14 Pro smartphone.

In an interview with Chinese media, Zhao Ming was asked to share his view on the new iPhone. Zhao replied that he has used the iPhone 15 Pro and found that there’s no difference between the latest iPhone and its predecessor.

Honor CEO also expressed that the iPhone 15 Pro doesn’t bring any surprising elements in terms of features as compared to the 14 Pro. He also mentioned that Apple has no clue of the trends and ideas of the industry to take the development and evolution towards the future.

Editor’s Pick:

iPhone 15 Pro comes with a dynamic island screen, round edge frame, and a new titanium body on the Pro series. The rest of the outlook including the camera is identical to the past generation. However, a major change is made to the chipset.

A17 Pro:

iPhone 15 Pro is using Apple’s A17 Pro Bionic chip, which is processed with TSMC’s 3nm technology. A few Geekebench 6 multi-core score test suggests that the power consumption of the new chip is not up to the mark.

The comprehensive performance of the A17 Pro large CPU core has increased by nearly 10%. Although the performance has improved, the peak power consumption has reached 14W. And the energy consumption ratio doesn’t seem to have improved much compared to the A16.

In terms of GPU, the A17 Pro is 20% higher than the A16. Even if the peak power consumption exceeds 11W. It still cannot catch up with last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are the two models that are facing overheating issues and Apple later had to promise to fix them with a software upgrade. The use of a 3nm chip was quite hopeful but it appears not to do deliver based on its new technologies.
