Honor CEO, Zhao Ming said his company is capable of defeating any opponent including Huawei and Apple. Zhao’s latest remark came on the sideline of the Magic 5 launch event at MWC 2023.

The Honor chief said that the phone maker is aiming to compete with the strongest competitors in the high-end flagship smartphone segment. He said that Honor must improve battery life, communication, photography, screen display, and AI smartness.

To win the competition, Honor must pursue globalization of its brand and fight and surpass whether it is Huawei or Apple. Zhao emphasized that Honor must face difficulties and needs to challenge high difficulties to forge ahead.

About Industry Benchmark:

Regarding the benchmarking products of the Honor Magic 5 series, Zhao Ming seems very confident that Honor has always been regarded as the strongest smartphone in the industry to benchmark high standards.

In the past, the Huawei Mate series and P series have always been the industry’s benchmarks. This success contributed to Huawei’s high-end market share, which reached 45%-50% globally. Zhao added that Huawei was once a top phone brand in China and now, Honor is heading to become a new benchmark.

The Honor chief mentioned many of Honor’s designs are based on the highest standards, including network technology. Frankly speaking, the flagship mobile phones currently on the market are not the best in terms of network capabilities.

The best 5G standard technology in the smartphone industry is still Huawei Mate 40 Pro. Honor wants to take this opportunity seriously and bring new network technologies to the forefront.

While being asked about competition, Zhao Ming said that Honor can compete with any opponent, and has the courage and ability to defeat any opponent, of course, Huawei is also included.

Possible?

Honor CEO is widely known for his dedication to this phone company. He do realize that Huawei is an industry benchmark that Honor has to surpass to become a key industry player in China as well as the global market.

However, Huawei has achieved its position in the industry with massive R&D and innovation. It’s a far-reaching aim for Huawei’s past subsidiary but wise words are always praisable. Because Honor is surely grabbing attention in the smartphone market.
