Honor 9 Lite and 9N getting smart features and June EMUI security update

Honor has released new updates for Honor 9 Lite and Honor 9N, which installs new smart features including Huawei Assistant and Smart Charge, as well as the latest security patches.

Both Honor 9 Lite and 9N run EMUI 9.1 and not eligible for EMUI 10. Also, in recent times, these devices received VoWiFi calling feature in India through software updates.

Honor 9n

CHANGELOG:

Huawei Assistant: Adds Huawei Assistant to the home screen providing smart reminders, personalized news, and other content relevant to you.

Battery: Adds the Smart Charge mode, reducing battery aging by adapting to your charging routine through AI learning and preventing the battery from being continuously charged when full. (This feature is enabled by default.)

Adds the Smart Battery Capacity feature, reducing battery aging by intelligently adjusting the battery capacity according to the battery status. Go to Settings > Battery > More battery settings and enable Smart Battery Capacity to try it out.

Security: Integrates Android security patches released in June 2020 for improved system security.

EMUI VERSION:

The latest set of additions for Honor 9 Lite comes with EMUI 9.1 version 9.1.0.173 and an update package size of 381MB. On the other hand, the Honor 9N users receiving the EMUI 9.1.0.149 with 382MB software package size.

Note:

  • The update is confirmed in Indian models.
  • EMUI version and size may vary.
  • Rollout will expand gradually and may take some time/days to reach your device.
