Huawei’s self-developed operating system HarmonyOS aka Hongmeng OS is build to support different platforms in the Huawei device ecosystem and recently, a senior executive from the company has put some light on what’s coming next for the HarmonyOS.

Huawei Chairman, Liang Hua said, Huawei will introduce a strategy on HarmonyOS on November 20, in an interview with CNBC at the East Tech West conference in the Nansha district of Guangzhou, China.

“You mentioned Harmony OS. Let’s say on November 20, two days from now, we will release our strategy, so I hope you will be able to tune in,” said Liang.

In a previous interview, Vincent Pang, Huawei’s senior vice president, told that Huawei will decide whether it will have to move forward with bringing the HarmonyOS to its smartphones in the next 6 to 9 months due to the US restrictions on using Google services.

Launched in August, HarmonyOS was first used in the  Honor/Huawei Vision TV  series and will be used in Smartwatches, In-vehicle systems, and Smart speakers. This OS is also planned to be expanded for more platforms.
