HarmonyOS 4.2.0.120 beta update rolling out for Huawei Mate X5

New HarmonyOS 4.2.0.120 beta update has started making its way to the Huawei Mate X5 foldable users in China. With the latest firmware, the company has posted some amazing UI features, optimizations, as well as, a significant security patch.

The changelog reveals that the HarmonyOS 4.2.0.120 beta update is only available to those Huawei Mate X5 foldable users who have enrolled in the software testing activity. In other words, the update access is limited to the first 2000 beta testers.

Although the Chinese tech giant assured that other device owners can pay attention to the beta versions as Huawei will soon initiate a public rollout in the time ahead.

“The first 2,000 users who successfully signed up for the early adopter version of the Closed Beta have priority to experience the new update. For other users, please pay attention to this announcement for subsequent updates.”

Note that you should have the baseline version 4.2.0.110 to jump on the new firmware. We also suggest keeping 8GB of free storage and enough battery level to proceed with the installation. Or else, you may encounter upgrade failure in between.

• Added a new geometric sticker theme which can pile up different triangular shapes or colorful stickers, creating a personalized theme. Moreover, users can interact with these stickers with the change of gaze angle on the lock screen.
• Added a new mood fun theme where you can choose from various cute expressions freely as well as combine them to form an enriched theme via several layout methods.
• Added a new mood sticker theme which uses a rich collection of popular emoticons and 1500+ mood emoticons to form an ever-changing interactive theme hence, making the lock screen more fun
