Back in February, we confirmed via an official source that old Honor phones that were released under the Huawei Honor partnership, will receive EMUI 12 software update but those Honor phone users are still wondering when will the update arrive on those eligible smartphones.

It’s June and Huawei is still rolling out EMUI 12 software upgrade for the smartphones and conducting tests on some of the most popular budget devices. However, devices from Honor smartphones remained untouched by this new EMUI 12 version.

EMUI 12 comes with plenty of new features that keep your user experience intriguing and makes it better compared to the latest EMUI firmware. The software offers – Control panel, an unified services panel for different menu option management, and a separate notification panel. Furthermore, you get better animation and performance improvements that are top on the line.

According to the information from Huawei’s official support team in Russia, we’ve heard that the company will rollout EMUI 12 for a bunch of Honor devices, which consist of the devices such as Honor 20, Honor V20, and Honor 8X, 9X, and more. Read more about these devices here.

On the flip side, we’ve not heard any news regarding the actual EMUI 12 OTA release for the eligible devices shown in the list. This is a kind of strange story to hear and read throughout the time. As users continuously ask us, when will the company send EMUI OTA for their devices.

Honor phones are surely capable of running EMUI 12 since it comes with an optimized user experience and is built on the foundations of EMUI 10.0 and EMUI 11. So, the corresponding Honor phones with EMUI and launched in the same time span as their Huawei counterparts can upgrade over the new EMUI version but the question is when?
