December 2021 HarmonyOS security update released for Honor V30 series

Honor V30 series smartphone has begun collecting December 2021 HarmonyOS update that mainly brings the security patch for improved system security. In addition to this, this update contains improvements for system features including Bluetooth, smart-multi window, and more.

The December 2021 update for the Honor V30 lineup arrived with the latest HarmonyOS 2 version 2.0.0.218/219, which is a follow-up build version of HM OS version 2.0.0.210. Especially talking about the changes, it optimizes Bluetooth connectivity, third-party app compatibility with Huawei Printing, smart multi-window user experience, and system stability of the device.

That’s not it, this update installs December 2021 security patch that fixes 1 CVE in framework, 2 CVEs in Kernel, 3 CVEs in the system, 3 CVEs in applications, and 62 CVEs in the third-party libraries.

New Version:

  • Honor V30 users getting HarmonyOS version 2.0.0.218 upgraded from 2.0.0.210. While the V30 Pro owners receiving 2.0.0.219 from 2.0.0.210.

Changelog:

  • Bluetooth: Optimize the compatibility of Bluetooth and some headsets
  • App: Optimize the compatibility of Huawei printing with some third-party applications
  • System: Optimize the system stability of some scenarios
  • Multi-window: Optimize the user experience of smart multi-windows
  • Security: Installs December 2021 security patch to enhance the security of mobile phone system

Things to know:

  • The device must have a better battery backup to install this update that is a minimum of 50%.
  • It’s compulsory to check your storage availability(Internal/External SDcard) to download the latest update as per the size required.
  • A strong WiFi/mobile data connection is required for a buffer-free download of the package.

HOW TO UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & Updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via My Huawei app:

  • Open the My Huawei app on your device
  • Go to the Update
  • Follow the on-screen instructions
