December 2021 firmware update out for Huawei Mate 30 series in China

Huawei is rolling out December 2021 HarmonyOS software update for Huawei Mate 30 series smartphone that new brings system and security optimizations. This new update is currently rolling out in the Chinese market.

The Huawei Mate 30 series December 2021 update log reveals that it offers optimizations for smart-multi-window mode and system stability. In addition to this, it also installs December 2021 HarmonyOS security patch that defends the device from threats and CVEs.

For your information, Huawei has not published the December 2021 HarmonyOS security patch details yet on the security bulletin. So, we don’t with are any fixes with this patch but the company has delivered this update to most of the front-line devices.

Huawei Mate 30 series new update:

Latest HarmonyOS Version:

  • Huawei Mate 30 receiving HarmonyOS version 2.0.0.212 upgraded from 2.0.0.216. On the other hand, Mate 30 Pro/RS Porsche Design/Mate 30E Pro is getting HM OS version 2.0.0.218 from 2.0.0.211.

New Changelog:

  • Smart Multi-window: Optimized the experience of using Smart Multi-window mode
  • System: Optimized the system stability of some scenarios
  • Security: Incorporate the security patch in December 2021 to enhance the security of the mobile phone system

HOW TO UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & Updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via My Huawei app:

  • Open the My Huawei app on your device
  • Go to the Update
  • Follow the on-screen instructions

Things to know:

  • The device must have a better battery backup to install this update that is a minimum of 50%.
  • It’s compulsory to check your storage availability(Internal/External SDcard) to download the latest update as per the size required
  • A strong WiFi/mobile data connection is required for a buffer-free download of the package.
