EMUI needs power key feature similar to One UI and Android

Published

EMUI 12 power key

Turning off your smartphone could be helpful for various reasons. However, with the evolving smartphone ecosystem, phone makers need also to evolve and Android device manufacturers continue to stand up to expectations by installing useful features and bringing them to the consumers.

Such interesting feature includes the virtual power key that is now has been adopted by different phone makers including Google and Samsung for Android and One UI software. The feature allows you to access the power menu directly from your quick settings panel. This is quite an amazing feature that Android phone makers should include in their phone ecosystem.

But Huawei EMUI still doesn’t have a virtual power key, which is a bummer for the consumers. As we expected, Huawei should have rolled out, Virtual power key with EMUI 12 software update, as it’s already used by other phone makers.

Below you can check an example of what the virtual key would look like in a Samsung device running One UI software.

If installed, the virtual power key could become one of the most favored feature addition on EMUI devices.

The use cases of this feature are very simple, and Huawei could add a virtual power icon right into the control panel. The feature will ease the access and remove some hassle from the physical power key as it will be able to survive longer with the device hardware.

Currently, this feature has not been part of EMUI software but we surely waiting to see what Huawei thinks of its integration.
