April 2023 update is expanding among Huawei smartphones and the flagship, Mate 50 Pro is the latest one to grab it. However, it’s not the first software update for the phone this month because Huawei has already pushed the March upgrade Mate 50 Pro to global users.

Looking at the changelog, you will find that there is nothing else than April 2023 security improvements for the Huawei Mate 50 Pro. However, there could be some internal changes that you are entitled to experience after installation.

You should know there are a lot of things that happened this month for the Huawei Mate 50 Pro or the entire Mate 50 series. Below are a few of them.

Huawei announced a discount on the Mate 50 series in China, which made a lot of noise on the internet. Looking at the numbers, the standard Mate 50 has a 500 yuan discount, and the 128GB version now starts at 4499 yuan.

The 256GB version is at 4999 yuan (the Kunlun glass version is priced at 5199 yuan). Meanwhile, the 512GB version is priced at 5999 yuan (the Kunlun glass version at 6199 yuan). There’s also a discount on the Mate 50E but none for the Mate 50 RS.

Chinese firmware

Last week, Huawei pressed a button for software update installation for the Chinese model and triggered a new firmware version with several optimizations related to network and system stability.


One of the most important developments for the Huawei Mate 50 Pro this month came as IF Design Award. This flagship is recognized as the best design for smartphones alongside Huawei P50 Pocket and Mate Xs 2 devices.

Software Version

The April 2023 software update for the Huawei Mate 50 Pro come with EMUI version and update package size of 325 megabytes. As usual, this update is rolling out in batches. Therefore, it may take some time to cover all of the models across the globe.
