All Huawei P70 series models may bring satellite communication technology

Huawei P70 series models will likely bring new tech-pack solutions and the satellite communication technology is no exception. As per a tipster, all handsets in the approaching P-series could install satellite-powered features for a dynamic experience.

Weibo blogger @SmartPikachu says that all Huawei P70 series models could accompany the satellite communication technology. Perhaps, the Chinese tech giant might upgrade the respective tech solution with new capabilities for the P70 lineup.

So far, Huawei has mainly introduced new-gen satellite features for the high-end models of the flagship series, while keeping the base variants confined with no or minimal satellite capabilities. But it looks like the company might change this trend with the next P-series smartphones.

The Chinese manufacturer hearsay to renovate the two-way satellite communication with the Huawei P70 series. Hence, we may see a few more surprising features in the time ahead. Yet, an official statement still awaits on this matter.

Satellite Communication:

Huawei is the first phone maker to feature satellite connectivity in its devices, starting with the Mate 50 Pro model in 2022. At that time, the premium handset enabled users to experience the one-way satellite SMS facility.

Under this function, one could only send an SMS to a recipient, without requiring the smartphone to have a cellular network as it runs via the satellite. Just point the phone towards the sky to match the satellite signal and send the message.

Moving on, the company elevated this technology with the Huawei P60 Pro and P60 Art phones in 2023 with the two-way satellite SMS tweak. From the name, one can send and receive satellite text without a mobile network. But again, the feature was missing for the base version.

Finally, the Mate 60 series appeared as a turning point in this segment and brought the satellite calling feature for the Pro and Pro+ variants. Besides, the standard Mate 60 only supported the two-way satellite SMS functionality.

It could happen that either Huawei brings upgraded satellite-based features for all P70 series models or could follow the Mate 60 series strategy with the satellite-calling facility in the top members whereas, the satellite-SMS capability for the standard variant.
