Top reasons to buy the Huawei P30 Pro over the Galaxy S10+

Huawei has done a fantastic job with the design of the Huawei P30 series. The Huawei P30 Pro is a stunning device with four camera lenses, a beautiful design, and some new software tricks.

Samsung, meanwhile, has the Infinity-O cutout on the S10+. The design at the back hasn’t changed all too much in recent generations, but the new colors on offer with the S10+ give it an added benefit.

The two flagships share many of the same features: IP68 certification, wireless charging, reversible charging, Android Pie, an octa-core processor, five cameras in total, a curved OLED screen and a metal frame.

However, despite those similarities, each device is vastly different. In most ways, the Huawei P30 Pro might actually be better. Here are the top reasons to buy the Huawei P30 Pro over the Galaxy S10+:

Unprecedented Camera:

The P30 Pro camera department where the company has managed to maintain the momentum of progress it established with the Mate 20 Pro.

Both the Huawei P30 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S10+ have five cameras each. Huawei’s phone goes with four cameras at the back and one on the front — Samsung has three at the back and two on the front.

The Huawei P30 Pro is looking set to be a camera powerhouse. There is a 40MP Huawei SuperSpectrum main camera, a 20MP ultra wide-angle lens, an 8MP optical telescope zoom, and a time-of-flight camera for more accurate portrait shots.

Huawei said the main lens is capable of taking in up to 40% more light than previous lenses. There’s a huge 32MP lens on the front.

While the S10+ — a 12MP lens with variable aperture, a 12 MP telephoto lens, and a 16MP ultra wide-angle lens. The S10+ camera is very capable and takes great shots – but not as good as the P30 Pro. There are also two lenses on the front, a 10MP, and an 8MP lens.

Let’s talk about the advantage over the competitor – the biggest advantage the P30 Pro has over the S10+ is its ability to shoot in 5x optical zoom through a dedicated 8-megapixel camera lens. Well, the Galaxy S10+ offers only 2x optical zoom.

With the 5X optical zoom, you can capture close-up shots of objects with more clarity. The P30 Pro’s 5x zoom camera takes good-looking images. The P30 Pro’s total zoom goes up to 10x hybrid zoom (mix of optical and digital zoom).

The 5x zoom lens can go all the way up to 10x without any noticeable loss in image quality. The P30 Pro also goes up to 50x digital zoom. Huawei has done an outstanding job integrating the lens in such a narrow frame.

With the pro mode, you can set the sensitivity to a high ISO 409600. The ultra-wide is excellent too.

What about night photography? The P30 Pro has the best night photo quality available. The P30 Pro has a Night mode that takes several seconds to capture an image, but even using standard shooting pictures look detailed and fairly clean.

Its Night mode allows you to get more clear and better results in more occasions where the light is very low. Even in extremely dark situations, you are able to capture beautiful moments.

The S10+ does not have a night mode but uses AI to improve the quality of the photos in the dark.

Battery

The Huawei P30 Pro has a massive 4,200mAh battery for a full day of heavy use, or good for two days of light use. The P30 Pro battery life is excellent, just like the Mate 20 Pro. The Galaxy S10+ has a 4,100mAh battery, which is a bit smaller than the P30 Pro.

However, Huawei still has the lead on battery charging technology, it offers incredibly fast 40-watt fast charging. You can charge up your phone to 70% power in 30 minutes with the TÜV Safety Certified 40W Huawei SuperCharge.

The S10+ still uses the outdated QuickCharge 2.0, making Huawei’s phone significantly faster. The S10+ offers 15-watt fast charging. You’ll absolutely notice the much faster-charging speed on the P30 Pro.

Huawei Dual-View Video

With the Huawei P30 Pro —  Two rear cameras work at the same time allowing you to record a video in ultra-wide-angle mode and can also watch the subject in the frame closer with the telephotos lens.

The Galaxy S10+ doesn’t have the Dual-View video feature.

Display and Design

The Huawei P30 Pro has the 6.47-inch OLED display with a 2,340 x 1,080 resolution. While the S10+ comes with a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED display and the 3,040 x 1,440 resolution.

Huawei has pushed the P30 pro designs to even more stunning levels. The front of the device is almost entirely screen, with only a small notch cut into the top of the display. There’s a stunning new color called Amber Sunrise and it looks truly marvelous; even the standard colors are beautiful.

The Galaxy S10+ has a similarly impressive screen-to-body ratio and uses the hole-punch camera.

Overall Best

The Huawei P30 Pro offers more than the Samsung Galaxy S10+ on multiple counts. And that’s really something. Huawei P30 Pro is one of the most impressive phones in the world.

In my personal view, the Huawei P30 Pro is a better choice than the Samsung Galaxy S10+. The Huawei P30 Pro is a beautiful, powerful phone with extremely capable cameras and a great number of special features. Buy one and you won’t be disappointed.
