These 14 popular Huawei flagship models getting HarmonyOS 2.0.0.209

Huawei has initiated the HarmonyOS 2.0.0.209 version update for 14 of its popular flagship models coming from the Huawei P30 and Mate 20 series. These phones are running HarmonyOS in China and currently receiving continuous software support in order to provide a better user experience.

According to the changelog, the latest update for the 14 Huawei models comes with major HarmonyOS features that have been first installed on top recent smartphones – Mate 40, P40, and Mate 30 series. However, now the company is seeding these to all of the available HarmonyOS devices.

Check the adapted models below as well as the full feature changelog. One thing to note is that the Huawei Mate 20 X 5G model getting a removal of 5G switch access from the control panel’s quick settings options However, the latest development has already been made on the request of a new Chinese telecom policy. On the other hand, Huawei has released the first developer preview of the HarmonyOS 3 that will be available for the developers. However, the developer beta testing will start in the first quarter of 2022.

Changelog for this software rollout:

Service Center: Adds Service combos to the Discover tab in Service Center (which you can access by swiping up from the bottom corner edges of the screen), allowing you to add service combos to the home screen to use scenario-specific widgets.

Task Center: Adds the multi-device task management feature to Task Center, allowing you to view, manage, and transfer previous tasks from other devices that support Task Center, are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and are logged in to the same HUAWEI ID. You can access Task Center by swiping up from the bottom of the screen and holding it.

Service Widgets: Adds the people album service widget (you can add it to your home screen by swiping up on the Gallery app icon) which loops photos of the person you select. Touch the avatar in the top corner to switch to another person, or touch a photo to open the album of the selected person.

Input methods: Adds a shortcut icon that you can touch to download and use Celia Keyboard directly.

AI Voice: Optimizes the Al Voice feature.

System: Improves the user experience with basic operations, including touch and volume control, and adds support for enlarging home screen icons. Optimizes the system power consumption in certain scenarios. Removes the 5G shortcut switch (5G can be enabled in Settings > Mobile network > Mobile data).
