New HM OS 2 features rolling out for Huawei Mate 40E and Mate X2

Huawei is rolling out a new HM OS 2 features update for its latest generation foldable phone – Mate X2 and the recently launched Mate 40E. This is the same major upgrade that is rolling out for several other top-end flagship devices.

It adds new HM OS 2 features as well as fixes for some known bugs, and optimizations for the system. The overall improvements provide a new and improved software user experience. You can check the complete details of the new update below.

What’s New in this update:

This firmware update adds a new multi-camera mode to these smartphones that lets users remotely take pictures by connecting to the WLAN network of any phone or tablet running HarmonyOS.

The latest software version also fixes the problem of the watermark, which can not be automatically rotated in some scenarios. The control panel and notification center can now be accessed easily and can be switched by swiping left or right.

The software security section has also been optimized with this new software and consists of new security improvements for improved data security.

Compared to the Huawei Mate 40e, the Mate X2 also fixes the bug where the signal icons in the status bar are abnormally displayed.

Huawei Mate X2

The Mate X2 equips two display systems including 8-inch and 6.45-inch OLED foldable and non-foldable displays. The screen provides 90Hz refresh rates for an immersive experience.

This foldable phone is powered by Hisilicon’s Kirin 9000 Octa-core processor along with 8GB RAM and 256/512GB internal storage. The rear side has a quad camera setup in the combination of 50MP+16MP+12MP+8MP and on the front, it has a 16MP lens for selfies. The smartphone comes pre-installed with Android 10 based EMUI 11.

Huawei Mate 40E:

The Mate 40E comes with a 6.5-inch OLED display with 1080 x 2376 pixel resolution. It is powered by the Kirin 990E 5G processor and paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal memory. The device packs a 4200mAh battery with 40W fast charging support.

The smartphone is equipped with a 64MP triple rear camera setup which includes 65MP+8MP+16MP. It has a 13MP selfie camera. furthermore, in terms of software, the Mate 40E comes pre-installed with Android 10 based EMUI 11.
