Huawei P40 Chinese models status:

In mainland China, Huawei is somewhat busy with HarmonyOS 2.0 beta testing program but simultaneously delivering security patches for eligible devices. However, the flagship models on EMUI software system are still working with April 2021 security update.

Meanwhile, the global user has started installing the May 2021 patch. For more information, the top smartphones including the P40 series already installed stable HarmonyOS 2.

Moreover, the HarmonyOS 2.0 has its own security patch just like Android. So, there are possibilities that these smartphones maybe prioritize the installation of the HarmonyOS security patch released in July 2021, especially in China.
