The full-fledged return of Huawei is surprising everyone and the latest Mate 60 Pro shows that the return became possible with a self-reliant supply chain.

The supply chain of the Huawei Mate 60 series shows that the Huawei Mate 60 Pro has the highest rate of localized electronics components. In terms of numbers, Huawei acquired about 46 Chinese supply chain partners and over 10,000 components domestically. These numbers exceed 90% of the device’s localization rate.

In 2019, Huawei unveiled Mate 30 series and the local component rate was only 30%. In 2021, Huawei Mate 40E made its debut with over 60% of the local supply chain.

The component tree of the Huawei Mate 60 Pro includes Huawei’s self-developed new Kirin chipset, which is a major hardware. The company is not importing this chip from foreign instead, it’s being printed locally. However, past revelation shows that the company is still using memory chips from South Korea’s SK Hynix for the 512GB version but there is nothing to confirm on 256GB and 1TB storage variants.

The number speaks for themselves and shows the remarkable progress Huawei made in the past three to four years after US restrictions.

Industry analysts are claiming that the Huawei Mate 60 series could achieve over 10 million sales. Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that the cumulative shipments of Huawei Mate 60 Pro after 12 months could exceed at least 12 million units. Meanwhile, the current market trend is helping Huawei to expect more from consumers.

Therefore, the company is raising its year-end shipment goal and revising continuously. According to a past report, Huawei has increased mobile shipments from 30 million units to 40 million units. As of the second half of this year, Huawei already completed half of its shipment aim and now moving towards the rest.

In that case, the Huawei Mate 60 series will play a major role in covering most of Huawei’s shipment records. However, the growing self-reliant supply chain is a good indication for Huawei as well as consumers.
