iOS should learn to manage apps from EMUI

iOS’ latest version – iOS 16 comes with a number of new features but it hasn’t added any new optimizations for the app library. This feature helps you to manage apps that are not required on the home screen.

The feature was first introduced with iOS 14 and since then it has remained the same sitting on the very right screen of the phone.

However, on the flip side, you have the EMUI and HarmonyOS but we’ll focus on EMUI for this session. Speaking of which, EMUI 12 comes with a new large folders feature that allows you to organize apps into folders, YES! You can also manage apps in iOS but EMUI 12’s large folders feature is a mixed feature between app folders and App Library folders.

That’s right, iOS 14 could be an inspiring software for Huawei to bring this feature on HarmonyOS 2 and later on EMUI 12. It’s possible but Huawei has advanced it for the good of all users.

Because EMUI 12 allows you to enlarge the regular app folder into a large folder by tapping and hold of the small folder. Then you will get the option to enlarge the folder, and shrink it via the same action.

You can move these large folders anywhere on the entire home screen just like an app icon, which is very suitable. However, you cannot move the app library from the app library screen on iOS or even on iOS 16.

Such functionality could increase the usability of apps and organize them according to the user on the home screen rather than a separate app library.

These large folders are very useful when it comes to instant access to categorized apps and keeping them inside a folder that could shrink or enlarge further optimizes this functionality for the end user. We don’t know what apple has planned with the iOS app library to manage apps on the home screen but here it should learn from EMUI.
