Bruce Lee, president of Huawei’s consumer business flagship product line said that the company recently sat in a documentary interview with a Japanese director. In the interview, Lee gave us some insights into Huawei’s latest situation.

Bruce said, Huawei internally allows employees to apply for retirement at the age of 45 but he would not do this. that is because the U.S. sanctions have hit hard Huawei and the company would continue to work until the day when Huawei gets back to the number one position.

In May 2019, Huawei was blocked by the U.S. commerce department and not allowed to purchase U.S.-made components. Therefore it cannot acquire the required parts to assemble devices such as chips for smartphones and network systems.

Bruce also said that if defeated, Huawei would accept its defeat if defeated in competition but a political blockade will stop or defeated Huawei.

Huawei’s other executive, Guo Ping, another Huawei executive, talked about and expressed that U.S. sanctions are painful in short term but good for the long term.

Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group said that Huawei has invested a very large investment in R&D and has gone through a very difficult process, but unfortunately, we are in semiconductor manufacturing.

However, the past reports have revealed that the company is making its way forward to the chip-making business and preparing to set its own foundry system, which may take some time but could be perfected by the Chinese tech giant.
