Today, Huawei confirmed that Huawei Watch Ultimate will launch on March 23 and it will be the first smartwatch with satellite SMS technology. This will allow users to send an SMS over satellite connectivity when the native LTE network isn’t available.
While sharing this news, Huawei Consumer Business CEO, Yu Chengdong said at the Huawei Spring Flagship New Product Launch Conference at 14:30 on March 23, Huawei will unveil a new series of watches, the Huawei Watch Ultimate.
He wrote that Huawei has overcome technical difficulties and challenges to build satellite communication technology in a smartwatch. This will allow users to connect to the entire world on their wrists through the Watch Ultimate.
This is quite a bold and powerful statement made by the Huawei consumer business chief. And it’s quite obvious how Huawei is able to achieve such a breakthrough in the smartwatch industry.
On the other hand, Huawei Smart Devices COO, He Gang also posted his promo on Huawei Watch Ultimate. He said that Huawei Watch Ultimate will open a new chapter of networking and communication in the world of smart wearables for consumers.
He mentioned that this watch will bring major upgrades for buyers with various professional experiences.
Both Huawei officials published a promo image of the upcoming device. It reveals a rouged design and a metal (possibly) frame is clearly visible.
Interestingly, the watch dial has different global time zone labels such as NYC, CHI, SCL, RIO, FEN, and more. There’s also a round crown on the right side that has a small ring design, which is functional with the HarmonyOS operating system.
Alongside, there’s a render of the satellite in the image, reflecting the new satellite network capability.
This launch announcement is really exciting for people who are looking forward to a flagship smartwatch. It shows Huawei’s enthusiasm to build a new smartwatch and this one we will witness on March 23 at the launch event.
