Huawei launches earbuds with heart rate and temperature monitoring features

On March 23, Huawei launched the world’s first earbuds, Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2+ with the ability to measure heart rate and body temperature. Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 + earbuds are equipped with a dual-mode heart rate monitoring sensor. It also supports infrared light continuous monitoring and green light high-precision monitoring.
The FreeBuds Pro 2+ has built-in the industry’s first three-dimensional multi-sensor architecture intelligent temperature measurement algorithm and realizes 3D temperature measurement.
This pair could enable abnormal heart rate notifications, and health data sync in real-time. This headset brings the joint efforts of Huawei and Devialet. On the other hand, the FreeBuds Pro 2+ uses dual units (a four-magnet dynamic unit and micro-panel tweeter).
These earbuds come with an 11mm four-magnet dynamic unit, the driving force is 30% higher than that of the previous generation. The low frequency dives to 14Hz and the deep bass is very powerful.
Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2+ also supports Huawei L2HC and the industry’s LDACTM dual high-definition audio decoding with HWA and Hi-Res double gold standard certification.
The earbuds support Harmony OS and Android dual ecosystem high-definition audio transmission. Meanwhile, the transmission speed can reach up to 960-990 kbps.
Not only that, this headset fetches high-definition spatial audio while using Huawei’s self-developed scene-based spatial audio sound field rendering engine.
The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2+ provides three audio modes: Concert hall, sound theater, and movie theater. There six-axis attitude sensor to dynamically track head movements. Reshape the sound field in real time to create a 360-degree high-definition surround listening experience.
In terms of noise cancellation, the FreeBuds Pro 2+ comes with a three-mic stereo array active noise reduction system with a maximum noise reduction depth of up to 47 dB.
There’s smart dynamic noise reduction 2.0, which can intelligently switch between depth, balance, and light modes, and supports dynamic detection of ear canal structure and wearing status to achieve a personalized noise reduction effect.
Looking at the design, the new earphones are identical to FreeBuds Pro 2. The color scheme is pure white and the earphone handle part is wrapped by a gold frame.
The world’s first heart rate monitoring earbuds, Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2+ will go on sale on April 7 in China with a price tag of 1499 yuan (219 USD).

Huawei FreeBuds 5 design is Inspired by the “Rupert’s Tears” formed during the development and testing of Kunlun Glass. Huawei FreeBuds 5 has created a new full-curved shape and the ear handle is in the shape of a drop of water, which is highly recognizable.
This new pair of earbuds has undergone rigorous wearing simulation tests and adjustments. The shape curves of the airbags and ear handles can naturally fit the structure of the ear canal and auricle to provide a comfortable wearing experience.
Noise cancellation:
It adopts a semi-open comfortable noise reduction design, upgraded to the comfort noise reduction 3.0 function. From sound pickup to playback, the whole link is improved and brings stronger noise reduction performance.
The interior of the earphone adopts a three-separation architecture design. These are the sound unit, battery module, and control circuit board placed independently.
Sound:
Huawei FreeBuds 5 is launched with a super magnetic surge unit driven by double-ring strong magnets. These wireless earbuds use an 11mm-diameter super-large diaphragm, combined with sound pressure Turbo technology.
Also, Huawei FreeBuds 5 also supports L2HC and LDAC dual high-definition codecs to achieve full-link high-fidelity sound quality.
It has an ultra-wideband real-time hearing optimization algorithm. The Huawei FreeBuds 5 can smartly calculate in real-time according to the ear canal structure, wearing status, and volume level, and complete the 100Hz-2kHz ultra-wideband precise compensation within 2s.
Battery:
Looking at the power, Huawei FreeBuds 5 has a battery life of up to 30 hours including the charging box. It supports 5C fast charging, and with a 5-minute of charge, the earbuds can provide up to 2 hours of non-stop listening.
