Huawei Watch Buds smartwatch can now download the HarmonyOS 4 upgrade with a host of new features onboard. This software update is a follow up release to Chinese models.

Huawei Watch Buds comes with a unique two-in-one design including a smartwatch look from outside while housing two Bluetooth earbuds under the hood.

HarmonyOS 4 for Watch Buds aims to improve the interactions and increase customizations. Here are some of the features of this major software release.

Users can customize workout data and widget layouts for certain workout types. It allows to display more information on the workout screen compared to HarmonyOS 3.

The update adds the ability to open an application from the shortcuts menu.

Optimizations:

Huawei Watch Buds will get new optimizations for display including light text and colors to improve visibility. It optimizes alarm features to keep them sorted based on alarm time.

The smoothness is improved while zooming app icons in the app grid. The new version has improvements for system stability in some scenarios for better performance.

These may not be the only features of the Huawei Watch Buds that come with this new update.

How to update:

Users can check for a new software update via the Huawei Health app by going into the device section and checking for a new software update.

For a better user experience, it is recommended to first update the Huawei Health app to its latest version from the AppGallery.

Make sure that the watch and the phone remain connected while the update is downloaded. It may take some time for the wearable to update.
