In November 2021, Huawei launched the Sound Joy speaker powered by HarmonyOS and co-engineered by the trendy French audio tech company Devialet. Now, the Huawei Sound Joy speaker has gone through the DXOMARK Speaker test suite and earned 103 points (global score).

The Huawei Sound Joy is the second Bluetooth speaker of the company that comes with a rugged design, expands 7.3 cm x 20.2 cm x 7.3 cm, weighs 680g, IP67 certification (dust-tight and waterproof), and has up to 26 hours of battery life.

According to the DXOMARK report, Huawei Sound Joy has passed through a variety of tests and several common use cases. It was tested with Motorola for music, Xiaomi Mi TV Box S for movies and obtained a global score of 103 points.

The reports also show that it is better than Baidu Xiaodu Smart Speaker Ultimate Edition with 48 points and Apple’s HomePod Mini with 98 points. Further, DXOMARK mentions that Huawei Sound Joy can be a good companion for everyday activities such as singing along in the shower, kitchens, or listening to a talk show on the go.

Also, the Sound Joy speaker is capable of delivering fairly sharp attack and good upper midrange reproduction, allowing the voices to cut through the background, thus keeping it quite intelligible. Moreover, the report claims that Huawei and Devialet’s collaboration in developing Sound Joy is more fruitful as compared to the first Huawei speaker – Sound X.
