Huawei Smart TV S5 series featuring self-developed AI chip enters pre-sale

Huawei has announced the Smart TV S5 series and initiated its pre-sale process in China. The large-screen device brings a variety of new features and capabilities and is available in three screen sizes alongside a limited-time discount offer for consumers.

Pre-sale activity for the Huawei Smart TV S5 series begins on April 09 and will run live till April 19. During this interval, the new smart screen is available with a discount of 200 yuan. Hereafter, the device will step into the official sale procedure.

Talking about the display, these devices have an LCD screen with a 3840 x 2160 pixels resolution. The panel has the capability of 100% BT.709 color gamut, a refresh rate of 60Hz/ multiplier 144Hz, a contrast ratio of 5000:1, and a display aspect ratio of 16:9 with direct backlight mode.

The difference between these models lies in the brightness. While the 55-inch variant supports 240 nits brightness, the other two provide 280 nits brightness.

All three smart screens pre-install the HarmonyOS 4.2 operating system paired with 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. These models further equip the company’s self-developed quad-core Honghu 868 AI chip with 2 x Cortex A73 + 2 x Cortex A53.

Huawei also uses the Mali G51 graphics processing unit for immersive and vibrant renderings on the screen. Huawei Smart TV S5 55 and 65-inch versions support 2 full-range speaker drivers whereas, the 75-inch model has 2 full-range drivers as well as 2 high frequency units.

The device features standard Bluetooth voice remote control and NFC one-touch screen projection. It has Huawei Histen sound effects for clear and highly efficient sound quality. The Huawei Smart TV S5 55, 65, and 75 supports 120W, 150W, and 200W rated power.
