Huawei released HarmonyOS 2 beta update for MatePad 10.4 tablet [Global]

In the global market, Huawei has started releasing the HarmonyOS 2.0 beta update for the MatePad 10.4 tablet. Currently, the company is seeding EMUI 12 in global smartphone units despite HarmonyOS due to some issues.

But, Huawei tablet segments available in the overseas markets can upgrade to the HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system that is great news. Ahead of the large-scale rollout, the Chinese phone maker is organizing a beta testing activity for selected models.

According to the latest information, Huawei MatePad 10.4 users are receiving HarmonyOS 2 beta update with version 2.0.0.230 (C432E220R1P2). To be mentioned, this update weighs 4.27 Gigabytes.

As always the beta version is expanding gradually among the corresponding device owners. However, it is available only to registered beta testers. So, if you have participated in the HM OS 2.0 beta program, keep eye on the update section to get it soon.

How to check the update manually:

To check for updates manually, you need open the settings menu and then select system & updates followed by software updates. Thereafter, tap on the CHECK FOR UPDATES option and wait for the tablet to connect to the server and get the latest update for you. Once you receive the update, download and install it.

HarmonyOS 2.0 beta changelog:

Home-screen: Swiping up on the app icon generates a service widget, which can be resized dragged to a new location, or added to your custom home screen.

Control Panel: Swiping down from the upper-right edge of the screen takes you to Control Panel. Device Control access has been added to the shortcut switches panel so that you can control all of your devices with the same ease as navigating on your phone.

Smart Folder: HarmonyOS adds support for app categorization and management. By pressing down on a standard folder displays a large folder, which offers direct access to desired apps.

HarmoynOS Fonts: HarmonyOS brings support for step-free font Weight adjustments and adjusts the size of the font itself.

Seamless Performance: All operations, including touches and swipes, are smoother and more natural, with images and videos loading more quickly as well.

Task manager: Support task status saving infrequently used apps, meaning that even after you’ve switched to another app, you can pick up a previous task right from where you had left off.

App Guard: The App Guard mode is enabled by default, to ensure that all apps are subject to deep scans for malicious behavior, security vulnerabilities, privacy risks, and other related behaviors while being installed.

This prevents risky apps from being installed while helping safeguard the secure running environment of the entire system.
