Huawei P60 series is coming and we got an early look at the Huawei P60 Pro camera capability, which shows that this phone could slay many beasts in the mobile camera industry.

In terms of CPU, the Huawei P60 series is relying on the old Snapdragon 8+ chipset. In that case, Huawei decided to play a smart move by dedicating its device to three sections – Camera, Design, and Features.

Meanwhile, Huawei is focused on first more than ever as compared to the past flagship or the current phones in the market. Let’s take a look at our current inventory of information.

Yesterday, Huawei shared a camera shot of the Huawei P60 Pro (unreleased) and there are a couple of details that raised eyebrows.

These are Night mode, Telephoto, Quality, and the Moon.

Jumping to the picture, we’ve found that the zoom is pretty sharp and lands right on the subject. The image is maintaining the detail and the background even after zooming in.

Next is the Telephoto range, the phone has zoomed at maximum, which shows a powerful periscope lens. On the other hand, you can clearly see the moon right behind the subject.

The interesting part of the story is the night mode and it is complying to supply enough brightness to highlight the subject and its colors.

Camera Sample from COO:

Following the MWC event, Huawei Consumer Business COO, He Gang also shared a few telephoto camera samples. Yeah, the aim is identical but the examples are different. Instead of night, this time we got to see daylight photographs.

In this scenario, we spot some key features including telephoto zoom, exposure, brightness, shadows, and moon.

There are three shots in total, the first shot shows a wide angle and the next two shot follows with a zoomed view. As you can see, the view has a bright subject with clear texture, and accurate exposure that doesn’t takes on details.

Even after the subject is zoomed in, the picture is still able to maintain the shadows. Last comes the Moon, because the photograph is captured in daylight and the phone does its work charmingly.

What’s new?

Reaching a conclusion, these two scenario shows the brand new camera capability that is completely new to the Huawei flagship devices.

Input suggests that Huawei has improved its night mode photography in the P60 series. There’s a new AI-based algorithm to improve images, which could fall under XMAGE 2.0 imaging system.

The flagship also equips new fusion algorithm technology enhances the camera hardware. The main camera is using a super large sensor to bring in high-quality images.

With the addition of computational optics and multi-camera fusion, the Moon mode has greatly improved. Also, the RYYB color array is making a comeback in the Huawei universe, as the latest flagship will also have surprises in the video section.

Is this enough for Huawei P60 Pro to slay all of the beasts in the mobile camera industry? The result and the number could do better magic this time. As we’re eagerly waiting for the launch conference.
