Huawei P20/P20 Pro and Mate 10/10 Pro EMUI 9.0 update now available in Europe and Asia



Huawei has now started rolling out EMUI 9.0 OS based on Android 9 Pie to P20 and Mate 10 series of smartphones. The new update brings all the Pie goodness including full-screen gestures and a new UI.

The update is now available in Europe and Asia. We can now confirm that the EMUI 9.0 update is available in most of the countries in Europe and Asia. If you still waiting for the update you can check via HiCare app.

The EMUI 9.0 update also brings features like GPU Turbo 2.0, HiVision visual search, Password Vault, Digital Balance dashboard, and more.


EMUI 9.0 brings GPU Turbo 2.0, which is designed to optimize intensive workloads and give an on-demand performance boost to the devices while reducing power consumption. It also brings a new Password Vault that helps users store their encrypted password with face or fingerprint for various services. There is also an Uninterrupted Gaming Mode to meet the needs of mobile gamers.

EMUI 9.0 additionally brings a new Digital Balance dashboard that allows users to track device usage metrics and let them set the usage quota for each app.

Huawei MatePad Pro 10.8 getting June 2021 security update with new apps [Global]

Along with the HarmonyOS 2.0 in its home country, Huawei is also delivering regular software improvements for its eligible devices running EMUI. Adding to this, the Huawei MatePad Pro 10.8 is now getting a new security update that improves the overall security system of this tablet.

This firmware, in addition to security improvements, the update also brings new apps shortcuts for additional Huawei apps that will provide new services and optimize the overall user experience.

The new app update consists of Petal Search, Books, Petal Maps, GameCenter Member Center, and Link Now. To be mentioned, the same app treatment is also being provided to other smartphones.

The latest software for Huawei MatePad Pro 10.8 has EMUI 11.0 version (C432E3R1P6). Combined with all of those apps and security patches, the udpate requires around 676MB of your data to download.

How to check for updates

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings and click on System & Updates, then open Software update.
  • Tap on Check for updates option, if an update appears then click Download and install.
  • After installation reboot the device.

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app, then navigate to the Service tab and click on the Update button.
  • Now tap on Check for update option, if found any then click Download and install.
  • After the installation completes, reboot the device.

Huawei P10 Lite receiving a new software update with added apps

Huawei is rolling out a new software update for its Huawei P10 Lite phone, the Chinese variant of Huawei P10 Lite. This firmware brings newly added applications and optimizes the smart search function alongside improving the overall system security.

The P10 Lite was launched in 2017, the smartphone comes equipped with a 5.2-inch display, Kirin 658, 3000mAh battery, and more. From the software side this phone packs with EMUI 5.1 based on Android 7. Later, the company upgrades its software version up to EMUI 8.

The new firmware is identified as EMUI 8.0 version from EMUI As usual, it’s a staged rollout and may take time to cover each and every device. It brings optimizations for the smart search function alongside January 2021 security patch.

Things to note, that this rollout is currently limited to Chinese models and may take time to expand among global consumers.


Moreover, there are some newly added applications including Education Center, Link Now, and a few more that are a part of this firmware version and ready to increase the user experience. Furthermore, the update carries security patches released in January 2021.

Huawei releasing software updates for the old devices, to make them ready for HarmonyOS?

Recently, we have covered a new software update for a 5-year-old Huawei P9 device. The latest P9 rollout got the same new features mentioned above with added tweaks.

Huawei has promised to upgrade its oldest possible devices with the HarmonyOS operating system.  The upgrade roadmap consists of over 100 models, yet it doesn’t include P10 Lite or P9 devices but we’ll have to wait until Huawei confirms these devices under the HarmonyOS rollout plan.

Huawei Y6P receiving June 2021 security improves with new update

After the rollout for several Huawei devices, the June 2021 security patch reached the Huawei Y6P users. As usual, this update just brings security improvements, other than adding any new features.

Huawei Y6P features a 6.3-inch display, a triple rear camera, MediaTek processor, and much more. The main highlight of this phone is its massive 5000mAh battery along with fast charging.

To be mentioned, the latest software update for the Nova 5T has EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.0245 (C636E4R3P1) with a download size of 98.83MB. However, the update size and EMUI version may vary in different markets and regions.

According to Huawei, the June 2021 security update brings fixes for different levels of exploits including 2 critical and 13 high levels of CVEs for improved system security and device stability.


Aside from the security patch, the update doesn’t reveal much of the information about any other changes made to the smartphone’s software system.
