Huawei Nova 12 Ultra may soon get new ‘Star (Xingyao) Edition’

Huawei is reportedly considering to add a new ‘Star (Xingyao) Edition’ to the Nova 12 Ultra smartphone. This new variant is hearsay to feature the same color schemes and storage versions as found in the original Nova 12 Ultra handset.

The tech giant introduced the Nova 12 Ultra device in December last year with a set of interesting features. The phone carries satellite-SMS capability, a new Kirin 5G chip, dual rear and front camera setup, and a pre-installed HarmonyOS 4 operating system.

Now the Weibo tipster @FoxedFocus suggests that Huawei may soon add a new Star (Xingyao) Edition to the Nova 12 Ultra smartphone. To begin with, the leak mentions that the term Xingyao will not appear as a sub-brand but as a specific variant.

This variant could be similar to the i-tagged, E-tagged, or SE Huawei smartphone models that offer flagship-level features and capabilities at a budget-friendly cost.

Further detail reveals that the Huawei Nova 12 Ultra will soon adopt this new version with possible branding – Nova 12 Ultra Xingyao version (Star Edition). It may have a maximum storage capacity of 1TB along with the same color schemes.

Even though Huawei has not confirmed any such news yet, the Xingyao subject has been in rumors for months. Some netizens also discovered a few alleged Xingyao devices on the online social media platform, that resemble Huawei phones outlook.

Huawei Nova 12 Ultra:

The premium-level phone equips a 6.76-inch OLED screen with a 2700 x 1200 pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It supports a 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, 1.07 billion colors, a P3 wide color gamut, and a 300Hz touch sampling rate.

Although the company has not announced the processor, some previous reports hint that the device uses the Kirin 9000SL chipset with adjusted cores from its predecessors. It is paired with 512/1TB storage. The phone packs a 4600mAh battery with 100W wired super fast charging support.

It is unclear if the new Xingyao Edition will be identical to the original variant or will carry some upgrades in appearance and internal parameters. Though we may find the respective model this month.
