A huge update for Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite brings Microsoft apps, Fixes display issue, and more

Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite is a good spec tablet that comes with a giant 10.1-inch FHD+ IPS display, a jumbo 7500mAh battery, 3D surround sound from Harman Kardon and supports M-Pen lite stylus.

However, one part of the tablet we can’t admire is its software system, which includes the EMUI 8.0 and it’s kinda weird when you’re in 2020 and playing with tablet on Android 8. At least Huawei should’ve given it EMUI 9.1 or a direct upgrade to EMUI 10.

Aside from that, Huawei is now sending new huge 3.4GB EMUI updates for this tablet but it’s not the OS upgrade. The update fixes display, adds important Microsoft apps, and improves system security with Android security patches.

More information about this update linked below.

Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite update includes 2 patches:

Fix:

This update fixes an issue where some system screens would display incorrectly.

Apps:

This update also adds Microsoft Apps like Power-point, Word, Excel, and Outlook (Able to Uninstall if not needed).

Security:

Integrates Android security patches released in January 2020 for improved system security.

The January 2020 security update includes Google security patches and fixes to 2 critical and 16 high levels of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE).
