Huawei Mate 60 series to bring both 4G and 5G models

Huawei Mate 60 series will come in both 4G and 5G models, says a leak, which also indicates that the company is leading us back where it started. However, this is a good thing for Huawei and it is looking to bring the latest smartphone technology into effect.

If you’d remember, the Huawei Mate 30 series was the first lineup to come in 4G and 5G variants. The company introduce these as the first fully functional devices featuring integrated Kirin 990 chipset series. We stand down from Huawei Mate 20 series because it wasn’t promoted as a 5G family.

Afterward, Huawei went full 5G with the Huawei Mate 40 series and announced for flagship chipset. It was the first 5nm chip and became the last flagship chip designed by the company in 2020.

Last year, Huawei launched Mate 50 series, which is entirely 4G and uses a Qualcomm processor. Until last year, Huawei reshuffling its strategy around different supply chains. This step is a key milestone to complete Huawei’s requirements and build new devices.

The Chinese phone maker settled in 4G for over 2 years but now, things are turning a little bit to its corner. Multiple sources hint that Huawei could bring back 5G later this year. And if Huawei has plans to resume 5G, then Huawei Mate 60 series is a perfect candidate to harness this network.

However, there’s no confirmation of which chip solution Huawei would use to bring back 5G in its devices.

Another aspect of the deal makes sense, Huawei should not cut major supplies from Qualcomm. Because Snapdragon chips are high in yield and their supplies are stable. Therefore, launching the 4G and 5G Huawei Mate 60 series will be right for the time being.
