It was reported that Huawei Mate 50 will be the first Mate series device that will not meet its launch date this year, due to different reasons that are related to Huawei’s current supply chain and components stock.

If so, it will be the first time when Huawei will skip the Mate device launch in the second half since 2013, the establishment year of the Mate series.

In midst of this report, a well-known Weibo tipster – PictureFan has some new information on this matter. The tipster says that Huawei has enough time to introduce the Mate 50 this year because there is still some gap following the launch of the Huawei P50.

In other words, there’s still a chance for Huawei to unveil the Mate 50 series and the tipster elaborates that the company has not made any internal decisions to postpone this flagship device. The decision on the launch of the Mate 50 is still looming because of the confusion, yet the Chinese tech maker still thinking that “as long as it can release, the product would definitely meet the consumers”.

Everyone is worried about the launch delay but Huawei will do try hard to get the Huawei Mate 50 this year and there’s no temporary stoppage on this discussion at the moment, noted the tipster.

Shortage of components:

Huawei has been placed under the U.S. Entity List in 2019, since then the company is facing hurdles in acquiring the required components to build new products. In the last rounds of U.S. sanctions, Huawei had to stop making new Kirin chipsets, which affected greatly on smartphone business, as the company can no longer build flagship chipsets for its flagship smartphones.

Yet, Huawei P50 is already confirmed for the launch but there’s no launch date decided on this matter. On the other hand, Huawei is still working to improve its supply chain links and reestablish them for future products.
