Huawei Kirin processor has secured the top position in the global chipset market. Despite U.S. sanctions and three years of challenges in chip shortage as well as production, Kirin has shown even performance for the third quarter of 2023.

Counterpoint Research has released the Q3 2023 global chipset market report evaluating the shipment share and sales revenue. The list of top chip-makers includes Qualcomm, Apple, MediaTek, and more. Among them, Huawei Kirin has ranked fifth spot in the global chipset market with a 3% share.

It looks like Huawei is gradually gaining its value back in the chipset market – thanks to the amazing sales event of the Mate 60 lineup which installs the Kirin processor. Together, these factors helped the company to prepare a good comeback.

On the flip side, devices like Mate X5 and MatePad Pro 13.2 tablet which equip the Kirin 9000s chip significantly boost the performance. Hence, these products continue to obtain great attention from users and become hot demand in the market.

Meanwhile, sources reveal that the mid-range Nova 12 series will bring Kirin variants on board. With ultimate features and an outstanding Kirin chip, the Nova 12 lineup is expected to hype the sales revenue for Huawei in the global chipset market in 2024.

Coming to the report, Qualcomm gains the first place with a 40% share. A major reason for this success is most of the premium flagships in China equips Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor which has ultimately contributed to the growth of the company.

The second position is grabbed by Apple with a 31% revenue share. And the credit goes to the iPhone 15 series with the first 3nm process technology.

Next comes MediaTek with being first in shipments. However, the overall sales revenue has pulled the company to the third ranking with 15%. Samsung made its achievement at the fourth position with 7% of the market share.

According to previous inputs, Huawei aims to raise the shipment target by 100 million units in 2024. Consequently, this may result in higher production of Kirin products by the next year. Thus, more success is on the way for Huawei Kirin processors in the time ahead.
