Huawei has released a new update for Kids Watch 4X and 4X special edition and it comes with firmware version 126.96.36.199. The update aims to improve the kids’ watch and its features.
Specifically, the changelog mentions that 188.8.131.52 firmware fixes the problem of not counting steps in certain scenarios. Therefore, it’s recommended that you get this version. Also, this new update is released in batches and may take some time to cover all of the selected models.
Huawei Kids Watch 4x series with firmware 184.108.40.206 will receive a 220.127.116.11 update.

The Kids Watch 4X special edition users with 18.104.22.168/22.214.171.124 will get a new upgrade with the following changelog.
- Optimize system stability in some scenarios
- Integrates security patches to enhance device system security.
Due to version restrictions, you first need to download the base software version 126.96.36.199/188.8.131.52/184.108.40.206. Otherwise, you won’t receive a new version upgrade.
Ahead of installation, make sure the watch has over 50% of battery level and keeps sufficient storage to store the OTA. Confirmation method: the watch does not prompt the message of “insufficient storage space” before the upgrade.
