Huawei HM740 HarmonyOS PC launched with 21-hour battery life

It’s December 11, and Huawei has launched its first HarmonyOS Office PC – HM740 with a range of excellent features. From a powerful battery to many other significant tech capabilities, the device will bring an iconic experience to office users.

Just like any other PC, the new Huawei HM740 HarmonyOS launched with a slim and sleek look. It weighs around 1.32kg and has a thickness of only 14.5mm.

It comes with a big 14.2-inch OLED true-color screen that supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 2.8K resolution, 450 nits peak brightness, 100% sRGB, and P3 dual color gamut.

The PC has received the German TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort certificate for low flicker and better eye protection. It debuts with an ultra-high contrast ratio of 1000000:1 that ensures perfect color rendering without any visual defect.

Interestingly, this is a touch-screen PC and supports the Huawei M-Pen 3 with multiple features. One can write or switch to air mouse gesture mode as per their needs.

Productivity

Huawei says that HM740 primarily focuses on the smartphone office needs of enterprise clients. It is capable of getting full-chain independent control from system to ecosystem and delivering the next level of productivity in energy, finance, and more.

Compared to other PCs in the market, Huawei HM740 can decompress 2.5GB in just 2.7 seconds and compress 2.5GB in just 9.8 seconds. Thanks to its internal technologies that make it super speedy and efficient in real-life scenarios.

The device has a 70Wh battery and is the longest-lasting PC in the Huawei family. It can play local video of 1080P for 21 hours and make voice calls for 15 hours. It has even surpassed the Apple M4 MacBook in performance.

Super Privacy Switch on the HM740 ensures that it disconnects the camera, mic, or any other access via a simple click. Now let’s check on the technological features of the PC.

Tech Features:

Qingyun HM740 has a 3-antenna Wi-Fi 7+ ring diaphragm dual-frequency structure. This particular implementation removes signal dead zones and achieves a stable connection over a distance of 420 meters in open places.

NearLink is another big addition that opens a high-bandwidth and battery-efficient experience. It allows the device’s components to respond faster as well as link more smoothly to form a solid foundation for multi-purpose office work.

The special NearLink Search feature ensures that the PC can continue to broadcast signals via a low-power chip even when it turns off. HarmonyOS Celia AI assistant brings features like in-depth research for generating a paper-level report in 20 minutes, Smart File Management, and Smart Notes.

Dual Digital Space

HM740 features Dual Digital Space, which allows users to swap between personal and enterprise with a simple four-finger swipe gesture without affecting security or efficiency.

It also has a zero-latency tool that auto-checks and completes policy configuration, software installation, and permission allocation after the device’s packing.

The PC supports enterprises in deploying dedicated AI models and ensures that confidential data remains in the device while local data processing.
