Huawei HarmonyOS atomic services platform launched

Published

on

Huawei has recently made a big change in support of releasing new HarmonyOS atomic services on its app distribution platform – AppGallery. The company has announced to separate the distribution category for both app and the services filed, which would make it easy for the app developers to make new HarmonyOS atomic services.

Atomic Services are future-oriented user applications provided by Huawei HarmonyOS. They are installation-free (installed automatically by the application framework in the background) and can offer one or more convenient services for users.

The use cases of Atomic services are very simple. For example, the shopping app A that must be installed in a conventional manner can be redesigned into an installation-free shopping Atomic Service A* that offers several convenient services, including goods browsing, shopping cart, and payment.

HarmonyOS Atomic Service platform:

HarmonyOS Connect is Huawei’s unified atomized service access and distribution platform. Once connected, the platform smartly distributes atomized services.

After completing the atomized services development, developers can debug, distribute, configure and publish through the HarmonyOS service open platform, as well as perform statistical analysis, upgrade, rollback, and delisting after listing.

Changes:

Huawei has changed the name of its previous listing process “Huawei Express Service Smart Platform” to “HarmonyOS Atomic Service Platform” in November 2021. The changes took place on December 31, 2021.

Additionally, “HarmonyOS Service” to the platform creation service model to support the independent launch of the HarmonyOS service, also added a SaaS service provider “Tripartite Workbench” entry on the home page of the platform (common developers do not have, enterprises only the developer).

Service providers can create and configure tripartite workbenches, using template libraries and development services as carriers to connect with their businesses.

When the merchant authorizes the service to the third-party workbench, the service provider can quickly instantiate the merchant atomization service with the template by managing the atomization service template of the development service, and a set of codes can be used multiple times, incubating multiple merchant atomization services.

The Listing Process:

So, what exactly is the new listing process? As shown in the image below, you can complete all operations of listing and publishing in DevEco Studio and HarmonyOS atomic service open platform. The first 5 steps are the preparations for listing and must have to be checked to list your atomic services on the shelves.
